Even Superman asks for help - or why consultants?
I got into comics when I was in high school. There was a local comic shop which was aptly named “Books & Comics” which led to me starting reading and exploring the stories within.
Although I was always a fan of Spider-man, I really got into comics like the X-Men. For those unfamiliar, the story of the X-Man is a metaphor for the civil rights era where two strong personalities had different methodologies to accomplish a similar goal. More importantly, these leaders recruited a team to accomplish this mission.
What’s significant is that there are different levels of conflict. We’re not just dealing with the situation (turbulence or chaos) but how different leaders are going to approach the problem. In the X-men’s case, Professor Xavier recruited young adults who were idealistic and had not yet suffered greatly from the issue at hand, whereas Magneto chose those who had. These mindsets brought different things to the table and allowed them to solve their version of the dilemma in their own ways.
This leads back to the title. Superman the ultimate hero knows what he doesn’t know, and calls for help, whether it is Batman for his detective skills, Flash for his forensic capabilities or Shazam (Capt Marvel) for his magic.
One of the greatest things about being married to Monica is that she has skills I don’t. Her abilities compliment mine, and vice versa. We approach problems in different ways, but we have a united goal. It’s this philosophy we hope to bring to our clients.
